Podcast says Never Yield to the Apparently Overwhelming Might of the Enemy

This week Shire Network News struggles to remain upbeat and cheerful. We will not lose, we will not lose. This week's guest, Kathy Shaidle, has just released her new book (co-written with Peter Vere): "The Tyranny of Nice:  how Canada crushes freedom in the name of human rights -- and why it matters to Americans".

If you order the book from Mark Steyn's site, he'll even autograph it for you.

Kathy blogs at five feet of fury and speaks to us about the abuses of the Canadian Human Rights system.

This week the show features almost all of our more regular contributors:

Evan Sayet is on and keeping the tone optimistic. You can find details of his conservative comedy show at his web site.

Doug Payton is asking us to think carefully as usual.

Peter Glover  returns, soggy and enraged, from Wales.

Meryl Yourish is very happy not to have become a journalist.

Blog News this week has been replaced by a pep talk from our glorious leader. No, not him, the other one, Tom Paine.

Awesome show again, guys.

Sayet is on the money as usual.  The left has waged a cultural war on our institutions for decades and it's time to wake up about it and take those institutions back.  The Global Warming scam is part of the same war, and signs are that people are waking up to that.

The Shaidle is fantastic.  What a brain that lil' gal has.

And be reassured Brian.  I believe Evan Sayet is right, and the extreme bias of the MSM has made the Bradley effect even more pronounced than it would have been otherwise.  PALIN/(mccain) will win it.  Then the real fight continues!  Charge!!!

I have been saying and continue to say that McCain will win in the end. It'll be a squeeker but he will win. Tom Paine, who have chatted to about this, is quite right that the MSM is doing this whole "Obama has won" meme to convince McCain voters to <i>stay home.</a>

Michael Barone had an article yesterday, which discussed Pennsylvania in detail.  The turnout in Philadelphia is quite critical.  Obama has a huge advantage there.  His campaign is now focused on getting out the vote and if you look at RCP, McCain has to get every state which is not solid blue but Obama probably just needs one grey state.

While McCain is starting to pull up, I fear there's not enough time left  He has got to get out the vote in every state which is in play and Obama just needs to get one.  Still, there is much enthusiasm on blogs like hot-air and ace-of-spades ... sadly I can just watch from here in Toronto.  Happily our recent election went quite well.

I don't think it will even be a squeaker for McCain - I think it will be a solid win.  Forget the opinion polls; they're the left-stream-media playthings, and why otherwise serious conservative bloggers put any credence in them is beyond me.  Check out the enthusiasm in the Palin rallies, and realize that these people will vote.  Half the Obamaniacs are like ObamaGirl:  Oops, forgot to vote.  Too bad.

All the blogs I read are pushing serious GOTV efforts.  So is Obama.  The internal polls (by all accounts) show it's very close.  However, reports of early voting also show it's close.  Obama has been pushing early voting and I read that the dems usually have an advantage there.  No-one will be happier than me if this extrapolates to a McCain win but noone expects a landslide for McCain.
