Podcast is looking at a graphic novel

This week we're talking to graphic novelist, Bosch Fawstin. He speaks here to Shire Network News's deputy-assistant under manger with responsibility for graphic novels, cartoon and illustrations, "Tom Paine" about why he's decided to tackle the enemy head on. This interview was recorded on September 11th, at just about exactly the time the two towers were hit. Just so you know.

You can find his website and order his previous graphic novel, "Table for One" at this website: BoschFawstin.com.

In Blog News this week we consider Israel declaring Gazza an enemy entity. My Pet Jawa is a good place to start.

Tim Blair's blog has a good summation of the Bush declares Mandela dead nonsense.

The song, "They tried to make me go to Jihad" can be found in a few places. Here is one of them.

In my editorial piece I mention Hugh Fitzgerald. I can't recommend everything he writes more highly. You can find his frequent blog postings at New English Review. Some of these also show up on Jihad Watch. I especially recommend everyone to read and forward to all they know the following article: Stop the Jizyah.

We have contributions from regulars Damian Penny and Doug Payton. Be sure to visit their blogs.

BTW we're saving up so we can pay for a full page add in the New York Times. We're not sure how much it will cost, we're waiting for them to get back to us with a quote. Please give generously.

Great interview. I look forward to Table for One and The Infidel. I hope a brave, brave soul follows the trend of adapting graphic novels for the big screen (a la 300) because he or she has a big chance of ending up like Theo Van Gogh.

Do you guys take suggestions for future interviews by any chance?

Thanks, we're always open to interview suggestions. We've got a few lined up but we can always slot new and interesting ones into the mix.

I think the world is a little way off "Pigman - the Movie" but we can dream!

PIGMAN, The Action Figure is more likely. I've interested a company in it, and they're enthusiastic, but we argued over Pigman's gut. I insist he keep his gut[s], for he's got them in abundance, literally and figuratively, and it's something that is identifiably Pigman.

Nice show. I especially like Tom's interviews.

Is it just my impression, or is Brian of London becoming progressively more hawkish as time goes on....

Bosch, the bolded part of your comment brings me back to Yogurt in Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs" when describing the merchandising of the movie.

Pigman, the action figure

Pigman, the lunchbox

Pigman, the trading cards

Heh.

A small correction:

Abraham Lincoln's gave his House Divided speech in 1858, upon his accepting the Republican nomination to be its Senatorial candidate. It preceded the seven Lincoln-Douglas debates. He didn't become president until March of 1861.

Eric,

Thank you! We do appreciate the fact checking and perhaps you'll excuse those of us from the old country (or the other colonies in this case) if we're a few years adrift. And anyway, Tom wrote that line :-) Does that mean the line was actually about the Republican party rather than the country?

On a point of etiquette, doesn't one always refer to a former President as President xxx even after they've left office? If one is referring to an event prior to him becoming President, does that change?

No, the line was about the country. Slavery was the only issue in politics those years, despite what apologists say.

Let's put it this way: do you refer to the actions of Prime Minister Winston Churchill during the Boer War?

Where's you little brain today. You don't fight religion with weapons (only losers, people with extremely low self-esteem and lowlifes wage war AT ALL!).
You spend your resources on bombarding them with information, education and a view to prosperity. The rest does it self. Time will do the job for you, slowly but surely.

You see information will show them that their religion are just as useless, brutal, surpressing, indoctrinating, fact twisting and down right stupid as Christianity and any other religion for that matter. This fact together with the possibility of securing a good life and education for themselves and not the least their children, will soon make them turn their backs towards the rag headed losers and their religious yapping...

See? that's how easy it is.
What you don't get is that there is a lot more behind this and all the other conflicts around the world where USA are involved....122 different country around the globe have foreign troops (read American troops) on their soil...I mean seriously wake up!
All this from a country that for many people around the world really personifies terrorism, economic imperialism and power abuse.
But what can you expect from a bunch of morons who have managed the incredibly stupid feat of building more than 20% of their economy on weapons industry....then you make yourself dependent on constant war.

So you go change those three tiny details I so neatly and friendly pointed out for you above, and you will see that the world changes with you, and it will all be for the better ....we know this much.

Another thing is that USA have a lot of the same problems as Iraq at home. A religious fanatical government, same goes for parts of the population (gods own country and all that crap, the bible belt, major morality, people who wants to swap science for fairytales in school, TV preachers, healers and crazy stuff like that), they have millions of minor children living on the streets, millions of families without a home and/or resources, people have no health care unless they are employed/rich.

So I should think there is enough for USA to take care of at home, and they would do well leaving the rest of the world in peace.

I have nothing against all the nice, honest, hard working, peace loving and open minded people I do know for a fact makes up most of USA's population. But like everywhere else, the Jews (the ones really going for the religious world power crap...that's not all Jews so don't get me wrong), the christians (read religious no brainers) and the capitalists run the show...and they only think about themselves, and are holy convinced that everybody must be like them or not at all...I mean come on LOL :-)

But their time is over, that's why they are panicking now. We are coming get them, so the people of the world can have the world and its resources properly distributed. And a law system forbidding anyone to rule anyone, and everyone to do their own laundry and cooking...not some pore refuge without papers and rights.....
No one will be able to make money on others work (read investing, stock trading and so on), and everyone working owns a equal share in the company they work for. No one makes more than others, and no one in Washington decides what goes in Baton Rough...or anywhere else but Washington for that matter.
If you wake up and study the internet a little better you will see, we multiply by the million each week at the moment....we've had it with your crap.....We will liberate the world peacefully (don't care if you like it or not), and BAN all weapons production for all eternity, and give animals same rights as humans.....well nearly all animals :-) bigots and conservatives will be targeted...OK that was a joke

Peace and love
