Shire Network News is the podcast of Silent Running, an Anglospheric group blog. You can contact the presenter, Brian of London as brianoflondon AT googlemail dot Com.

The Executive Producer, "Tom Paine", can be contacted here.

This is the first edition of Shire Network News to be hosted by Brian of London. Sincere thanks also go to Tracey for hosting the show last week.

In a short Blog News section we cover more "youth" riots in Paris, cunningly ignored by the main stream media. Fortunately Atlas Shrugs managed to point them out.

The Egyptian Sandmonkey tells us his feelings about Cindy Sheehan's so-called hunger strike.

And finally, we take a look at scamming the scammers by Shiver Metimbers and his website, 419eater.com. Somehow Suha Arafat is even brought into this story.

In the Full of Crap Report this week, Laurence Simon tells us about the passing of one of Huston's famous sons. Laurence is not a fan.

Meryl Yourish, in "On Second Thought" will return next week with something stunning.

Canadian blogger Damian Penny fills us in on some rather unpleasant biological events in his native city.

This week's feature interview is with Tom Paine. You may know Tom from such productions as Shire Network News (and the picture at the bottom of this podcast post). What makes him tick? How does he reconcile his shift toward conservatism with the world's lurch in the other direction? How can one talk to the left. All this and more in an extended interview.

Finally, I've dropped in a little something in remembrance of 7/7. Living in London, as I do, I couldn't let that pass without a mention.

If you enjoy this podcast, why not share it with your friends? Send a link to Shire Network News to anyone you know who might also get a kick out of robustly-expressed free opinion.

Shire Network News is, of course absolutely free. Unfortunately, explaining that to the local phone company, the electronics store and all the others is not so easy. This is where you, the grateful listener can play a vital role, by hitting the tip jar!
