Podcast helps swarm unscrupulous French publisher

I’m afraid that in the change of servers, we appear to have misplaced the various pictures and logos that usually grace each edition of Shire Network News, the podcast of this blog.

So this will look even plainer and stand out even less than normal. And the tip jar has apparently vanished, which is extremely helpful.

At least the actual podcast should still work. I hope. You can contact me at this e-mail address.

In the Full of Crap Report this week, Laurence Simon gives a verbal kicking to a pair of dead terrorists, and his final warning to “keep watching the skies” should be taken literally by the ones still alive and wasting perfectly good oxygen.

Meryl Yourish in "On Second Thought" has some musical tributes to the late unlamented, and speculates as to their current whereabouts. Hint - it's not very cool.

This week’s feature interview is with independent journalist Michael Yon, who is currently employing the power of the Blogosphere in his fight with an unscrupulous publishing company which is trying to rip him off and disrespect the troops. Why yes, they are French, how did you guess?

The Zarkmeister has left the building, and according to his latest communiction on Iowahawk, paradise is not turning out the way he expected. Those tourist brochures always paint their destinations in the best light. Tim Blair, also has some of the finalists in the Moral Equivalency Olympics, and a commenter at Iraq the Model, has a pithy response to the John Donne “every man’s death diminishes me” meme being pushed by the anti-war Left.

We have a new winner in the Little Green Footballs, / Pallywood, award for Best Palestinian Manipulation of the Western Media. Not content with blaming Israel for the death of Mohammed Al-Durah , and still smarting from their attempt at filming “funerals” where the “bodies” got up and walked, the Pals now have “Girl on Beach” which has fooled pretty much all the news geniuses, but from which there rises a powerful stench of mendacity. Colour me decidedly unconvinced.

Ann Coulter is an idiot. Hardly a newsflash, I realise, but it bears occasional repetition.

St George for England? Not anymore.. Apparently large companies and even local authorities in England are taking orders from Al-Mouhajiroun and telling employyes they aren’t allowed to fly the English national flag because it might “offend Muslims”. Great. And how are we supposed to feel about the Saudi flag, may I ask?

The New Zealand SAS get an award from George Bush. See earlier comment re: farting in church. Jack Yan at the Persuader Blog has more.

Some US diplomats in the Middle East apparently were so busy arse kissing the local oil tick sheikhs that they completely missed the Presidents second Inaugural Address. The Egyptian Sandmonkey is epecially displeased with the one in Cairo. Remember – those striped pants smoothies assuring the local potentate that the regrettable accient involving the leader of the opposition and a vat of acid won’t get any coverage on domestic US television and asking if the regular annual jiziy…uh, I mean foriegn aid cheque had gone into his niminated account in Lichtenstein are working for the US taxpayer. They must feel so proud.

In potentially bad news, my personal circumstances have altered in such a way that I cannot continue producing this podcast. Nothing sinister, I’ve just got another job, which means a higher profile, more overseas travel, and more pressure at work. And no extra time for hobbies like Shire Network News.

I love you all, but in the real work you have to put the day job first. I would hate for SNN to just collapse though, so if there’s anyone out there who knows someone who could take over the presentation, writing blog news, doing the feature interview, coordinating contributors and putting the show together, please let me know.

I will be back next week though.
